I love baths, and it’s something I’ve indulged in since I was a girl. There is just something about the calming energy of the water. Well actually, there is scientific evidence that water calms the mind and nervous system. It is often said that the best literature is written near the water and that creativity flows with ease when near a water source. I genuinely believe this because most of my ideas occur when I’m in the bath. But more than that, I think a bath or shower is the perfect thing to do when you’re working on a spiritual release. The whole point of taking a bath or shower is to cleanse yourself, so I find it only fitting that you wash your spiritual baggage as well.
Now, I know what I could work on, but I decided I would make this bath ritual more adaptable. You can use this ritual to release something specific, or you can do as I’m doing and simply let spirit show you what’s needed to be released. I’ve worked on particular things as of late, and I’m just in the mood to let spirit take the lead.
The ritual
This ritual calls for an essential oil blend of equal parts lavender, clary sage, and ylang-ylang. These three oils relax and calm the nerves, helping you to connect with spirit more efficiently and to release blocks that are keeping you from your goals. Be sure to properly dilute these oils in vegetable oil like coconut, almond or grapeseed oil before adding to your bath. You’ll also need at least one clear quartz crystal for this ritual to place in the tub. You can add any additional crystals that you like to bring a specific energy into your bath. Try some of the following:
To release negative emotions including anger or fear try: smoky quartz, amethyst, moonstone or blue lace agate.
To release grief or general pain try: obsidian, lapis, rose quartz or turquoise
To release blocks try: carnelian, lepidolite, kyanite, and garnet.
Run yourself a warm bath. While the water is running, blend oils and set aside. Add your crystals and oils to the bath just before stepping in.
Once in the bath, take a few moments to take several deep breaths, coming into present and allowing the fragrance to wash over you. Once you are ready, begin to imagine a warm radiating from the water. Picture this light illuminating you and the water around you. Let this light fill you up until you are entirely overflowing with this warm energy. If you are setting a specific intention, now is the time to do. Allow the image of your intention or the thing you wish to release to appear in your third eye. If you are letting spirit take the lead, clear your mind and allow a message to come to you from your higher self. This can be an image, a word, a symbol. Whatever it is, accept this gift even if you aren’t sure what it’s regarding.
Once you have your image/message, imagine that radiant light penetrating this image. See the light burning through this image and getting brighter and brighter until finally the image is dissolved and turned to dust. Now, simply wash the ash away; imagining the water taking all of this useless energy with it and recycling it into new fresh energy. If the image pops back into your mind, simply repeat the process of letting the light burn it away until you no longer see the image or message. When you’re done, take a few moments to envision what you’d like to take this old energy’s place. Or you can ask spirit to give you a message of what you need to call into your life. Meditate on this image for as long as you like. Take time to visualize this new energy filling you with joy and abundance; setting your new intention into motion.
When you’re ready, come back into the physical realm by gentle moving your body, allowing the feel of the water to pull you from spirit gently. When exiting the bath, consider spritzing yourself with rose neroli water to refresh you and enliven your spirit.
Don’t have a bathtub? That’s ok. You can still do this ritual by turning it into a foot bath instead or do this ritual in the shower. Rub your oil mixture over your body before getting in, just make sure you probably dilute the essential oils enough carrier oil first. Place your crystals inside your shower, then step and continue with the ritual.
Wouldn't it be a good idea to create a course?
